A HitBio is a person's biography, as told through their search hits. You can create your own HitBio in a few easy steps.
Step 1: Search for yourself in Google.
Step 2: Select the hits that you'd like to include in your HitBio.
You can use HitBio to:
Differentiate yourself from other people with the same name -- highlight the results that are actually you.
Tell your story and explain your Internet presence to potential employers and friends. It's all hand crafted by you.
You can edit and share your HitBio on your personal page, at http://hitbio.com/v/yourGmailName. You can share this link with your friends, and you can even comment on and reorder the results that you've added.
When applying for a job, I realized that employers were Google'ing for my name as a quick background check. Who doesn't? Though my name is rare, there are others with my name that definitely mess up my search results! I realized that my prospective employers probably thought my name was unique, so I figured that it would be nice to create a site where I could clearly point out which hits were mine.
If you have a Google account you already have a HitBio Account! Like all Google App Engine applications, HitBio does not have access to any of your Google account information beyond your nickname and ID.
You can reach me at contact [at] hitbio.com. Feature requests, criticism, and ideas are welcome!
Nope -- but this site was created using the Google Ajax Search API and the Google App Engine development platform. Thanks Google!
